How Sarah Jayne Began.
Our begining was quite small with one stylist, our daughter Sarah Jayne, two styling units and one wash point in a small building not much larger than a garden shed.
In our first week we had no more than a handful of clients, but in a relatively short period of time we had more than we could cope with. Within six months, we found that we needed another stylist and within a year, a third, "Julie", who is still with us to this day. It was then necessary to add an additional wash point and make other alterations, to cope with the number of clients coming into the salon.

After about three years, it was obvious that our existing building was no longer adequate for our needs. There was however, a disused stable block on site, which we felt could be converted, to include a beauty room, providing us with a hair and beauty salon which would meet all our current needs. Our landlords agreed to allow us to convert the stables and after a short period of time we moved in.
Our business continued to expand and we needed to recruit extra staff, this again brought more clients into the salon.
At this point we discovered that our paper booking system, was unable to cope with our needs so we introduced, for the first time, our existing computer based booking and stock control system. This has been a wonderful aid and has enabled us to ensure, that our bookings are correctly recorded and client records are always up to date.
However, with our new building, computer, additional styling units and staff, our client base increased once more, and yet again we ran out of space, fortunately, at the end of the stable block there was a vacant area of land. Once more we approached our landlords asking if we could expand the building, they agreed, so now we have a new staff room, beauty room, wash point area with massage seats, additional styling units, client waiting area, reception area and retail display areas, well stocked, with a wide range of L'Oreal and Joico products. With the changes we had then made we again needed to take on more staff.
Since the last expansion of the building we have introduced, a new vision TV system, where you can find information on local businesses and events, catch up on all the latest news and celeb gossip, and also a variety of hot beverages to make your time with us an even more enjoyable experience.
